Knowledge Translation Seminar
A collaboration between CHiAPRT, the Research-Policy Translation Community of Practice, and Dr Chris Cvitanovic

Please join the Research-Policy Translation Community of Practice for an astute exploration into the world of knowledge exchange, boundary spanning, and building and managing trusted relationships.
-- SAHMRI Auditorium
-- 26th of May
-- 1:30-4:30pm
The esteemed Dr Chris Cvitanovic has agreed to deliver a tailored talk about improving knowledge exchange at the interface of science, policy, and practice, building off his extensive and highly practical published work in the fields of knowledge exchange, stakeholder engagement, boundary spanning, and marine governance.
This presentation will be an exciting opportunity for newer or less established members of the Community of Practice (as well as those who aren’t members at all) to learn more about the foundational concepts of boundary spanning, knowledge translation, and co-development, meet like-minded people, and become more involved with the Community of Practice. The topics and concepts covered in the session are closely aligned to the foundations and aims of the Community of Practice, and we believe that it will be of supreme interest to all CoP members.
This is an open session, so if you would like to gain a better understanding of boundary spanning and knowledge exchange concepts and practices, register now!
.
Initially developed in response to the requests of the community, the Research-Policy Translation Community of Practice aims to support collaborative partnerships and knowledge exchange between researchers, policy actors, and practitioners across South Australian and local sectors and disciplines.
Protecting Public Interest Journalism as a Public Health Good
The eighth In Conversation Roundtable Webinar
In partnership with Croakey Health Media, the Centre for Health in All Policies Research Translation (CHiAPRT) is convening the eighth In Conversation Roundtable webinar, titled Protecting Public Interest Journalism as a Public Health Good.
-- Online
-- 28th of May
-- 3:00-4:15pm
Public interest journalism is motivated by (and works towards) the greater public good, rather than traditional commercial or self-serving interests, and holds those in power to account. It also contributes to a reliable, relevant, and safe news and information environment and can amplify and reinforce the voices and messages of those with less power.
This roundtable discussion will bring together a diverse group of leaders in the field to explore and discuss the issue of public interest journalism, with a key focus on the challenges the field faces and how reinvigorating and supporting the independent journalistic field is critical to tackle the range of societal challenges facing our global community.
Speakers:
- Melissa Sweet
- Norman Swan
- Bronwyn Fredericks
- Alex Cramb
- Carmel Williams - Rapporteur
We invite you to join us for a lively and robust exploration into public interest journalism as a powerful tool for health, wellbeing, and sustainability.
